Soccer Recap: Centennial Comes Up Short

Centennial fell victim to Saugus and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Centurions. While losing is never fun, Centennial can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while Saugus are ranked 100th).

Centennial's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3-3. As for Saugus, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1-1.

Looking ahead, Centennial will challenge Sanger West at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Sanger West's last six contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Saugus, they will venture away from home to take on Oak Park at 12:00 p.m. on Monday.
