Basketball Recap: Nouvel Catholic Central Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Nouvel Catholic Central took on Bridgeport on Tuesday. The Nouvel Catholic Central Panthers took a hard 59-45 fall against the Bridgeport Bearcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 47-32 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Kim Ellis continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Bridgeport, dropping a double-double on 40 points and 17 boards. Ellis' evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least 24 points. Another player making a difference was My'Angel Smith, who posted 12 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals.

Nouvel Catholic Central dropped their record down to 3-10 with the defeat, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Bridgeport, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-8.

Nouvel Catholic Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 69-11 victory against Carrollton on the 7th. As for Bridgeport, they have also already played their next contest, a 77-49 loss against Alma on the 7th.
