Clark Montessori has gone 9-0-1 against St. Bernard-Elmwood Place recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Cougars will host the Titans at 5:00 p.m. Clark Montessori is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
Clark Montessori is headed into the game having just suffered their closest loss since March 29th on Tuesday. They fell just short of New Richmond by a score of 3-1. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Clark Montessori saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Ernst, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, St. Bernard-Elmwood Place entered their tilt with Norwood on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Indians.
Mason Stone was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Stone was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Jason Helphinstein was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Logan Davis, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.
Clark Montessori's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for St. Bernard-Elmwood Place, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Clark Montessori has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like St. Bernard-Elmwood Place struggles in that department as they've been averaging 14.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Clark Montessori's way against St. Bernard-Elmwood Place when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Clark Montessori made off with a 17-3 victory. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Titans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
