Baseball Game Preview: Fallbrook Warriors vs. Poway Titans

For the second straight game, Fallbrook will face off against Poway. The Warriors will welcome the Titans at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Fallbrook has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Poway will arrive with five straight wins.

On Monday, Fallbrook came up short against Poway and fell 7-3.

For Poway's part, they got a great performance from Owen Digenan as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Digenan is becoming a predictor of the Titans' success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 4-1 (and 6-8 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Daniel Hornyak was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Victor Encinas, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Poway kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Fallbrook's loss dropped their record down to 3-15-1. As for Poway, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
