Basketball Recap: Rock Academy Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tri-City Christian, Rock Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Orange Glen Patriots by a score of 56-49. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 73-47 back in January.

Rock Academy had a senior duo take command as James Whitley dropped a double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds and Roland Balderramos dropped a double-double with 25 points and ten boards. That makes it six consecutive games in which Whitley has scored at least a third of Rock Academy's points. Christian Elkins also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Rock Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Rock Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-25. As for Orange Glen, they are on a 30-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-28.

As of now, neither Rock Academy nor Orange Glen have any future games scheduled.
