Baseball Recap: Cascade Takes Down Northview in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Cascade rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Northview Knights by a score of 5-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-2 back in April.

Noah Dasgupta spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Braxton Lewis, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

Cascade has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Northview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-12.

As of now, neither Cascade nor the Knights have any future games scheduled.
