Volleyball Game Preview: El Segundo Eagles vs. St. Francis Golden Knights

After both having extra time off, the El Segundo Eagles and the St. Francis Golden Knights will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

El Segundo is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against West Ranch, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since March 15th.

El Segundo wouldn't go down easily and took West Ranch into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 24-26, 22-25, 25-19, 15-9.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Wednesday St. Francis sidestepped JSerra Catholic for a 3-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Knights.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day St. Francis got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-18, 23-25, 25-20, 19-25, 15-13.

El Segundo's win bumped their record up to 15-5. As for St. Francis, their victory bumped their record up to 20-7.
