Baseball Recap: Mundelein Find Success

Mundelein won against Deerfield last Monday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. Mundelein came out on top against the Elk Grove Grenadiers by a score of 8-4. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Grenadiers: they've now won three in a row.

Sean Sanderson looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Johnny Weiss was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Junia, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Mundelein's win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mundelein will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Lakeside School at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Elk Grove, they will square off against Niles North at 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
