Baseball Game Preview: Wyalusing Valley Rams vs. Williamson Warriors

The Wyalusing Valley Rams will venture away from home to square off against the Williamson Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Williamson took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Wyalusing Valley, who comes in off a win.

While Wyalusing Valley's victory against Cowanesque Valley wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rams sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Indians on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Williamson's offense. They lost 12-0 to Athens on Wednesday. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Williamson saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kohen Flynn, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases. Flynn is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played.

Williamson's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Wyalusing Valley, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-6.

Everything went Wyalusing Valley's way against Williamson when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Wyalusing Valley made off with a 16-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
