Santa Paula got themselves on the board against Hueneme on Wednesday, but Hueneme never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Vikings 27-0. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.
Angie Aguilera was her usual excellent self, throwing for 274 yards while picking up 11.0 yards per attempt, and also punching in one touchdown on the ground. Those 274 passing yards gave her a new career-high.
Another reason for the win was Santa Paula's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for seven sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Tatyana Magana.
Santa Paula has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.5 points on average over those games. As for Hueneme, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.
