Baseball Recap: Moorpark Gets the Win

Moorpark won the last time they faced Oak Park and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Musketeers came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 9-6.

Tanner Stotts looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Derek Nickels was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Taylor Busch also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Moorpark kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win got Moorpark back to even at 6-6. As for Oak Park, they dropped their record down to 4-7-1 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Moorpark will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
