Basketball Game Preview: Southeast of Saline Trojans vs. Republic County Buffaloes

Southeast of Saline is 10-0 against Republic County since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Southeast of Saline Trojans will host the Republic County Buffaloes at 7:30 p.m. Southeast of Saline is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.4 points per game this season.

Southeast of Saline's tournament run continued when they took on Smoky Valley on Friday. Southeast of Saline enjoyed a cozy 48-32 win over Smoky Valley. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

It was another big night for Gannon Jacobson, who went 10 of 18 on his way to 22 points along with six rebounds and five steals. The contest was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tiernan Ptacek, who went 6 for 7 en route to 16 points.

Southeast of Saline smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Republic County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 30th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 44-38 heartbreaker at the hands of Classical. While losing is never fun, the Buffaloes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 317th, while the Saints are ranked 116th).

Southeast of Saline's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Republic County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11.

Southeast of Saline took their win against Republic County in their previous meeting on January 3rd by a conclusive 69-43. Does Southeast of Saline have another victory up their sleeve, or will Republic County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
