Baseball Recap: Waynesville Tigers vs. Capital City Cavaliers
Waynesville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They came up short against the Capital City Cavaliers, falling 14-3. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 13-0 to the Cavaliers when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Waynesville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carson Sutphin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double. Kael Warren also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Waynesville's defeat dropped their record down to 5-22. As for Capital City, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-22 record this season.
As of now, neither Waynesville nor Capital City have any future games scheduled.
