Basketball Game Preview: Douglas Patriots vs. Yankton Bucks/Gazelles

Douglas hasn't had much luck against Yankton recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Douglas Patriots will take on the Yankton Bucks/Gazelles at 3:00 p.m. Douglas has given up an average of 58.1 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Douglas is headed into Saturday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Friday. They fell 66-56 to Brookings.

Meanwhile, Yankton can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They secured a 48-42 W over Spearfish.

Yankton's win bumped their record up to 5-15. As for Douglas, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-16.

Douglas came up short against Yankton in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 56-43. Can Douglas avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
