Basketball Game Preview: Lake George Lakers vs. Fort Edward Flying Forts

Lake George has gone 9-1 against Fort Edward recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Lake George Lakers will venture away from home to face off against the Fort Edward Flying Forts at 4:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Lake George is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Fort Ann on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Lake George lost 61-39 to Fort Ann. The Lakers were down 49-29 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Max Hohman, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. He has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last ten times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kyle Lanfear, who posted four points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Even though they lost, Lake George smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Fort Edward was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 50-32 to Hartford Central.

Fort Edward's record is now 6-9. As for Lake George, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-15.

Lake George couldn't quite finish off Fort Edward in their previous matchup back in January and fell 46-43. Can Lake George avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
