Softball Recap: Marana Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Marana extended their winning streak to three on Saturday, bumping them up to 28-4. They put the hurt on the Liberty Lions with a sharp 20-4 victory. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 20 games by seven runs or more this season.

Aubrianna Gray looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Bella Corona, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, nine RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2025. Makenzi Sledge was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Marana kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

As for Liberty, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 16-13 record. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss they have suffered since March 11th.

On Liberty's side, they saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooklyn Calsyn, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Coming up, Marana is taking a road trip to challenge Pinnacle at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pioneers have averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season. As for Liberty, they will face off against Hamilton at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Huskies have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
