Basketball Recap: Fairfield Central Takes a Loss

If Fairfield Central was feeling good fresh off their 46-22 takedown of Swansea last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Fairfield Central Griffins took a blow against the Camden Bulldogs on Tuesday, falling 61-27. The Griffins were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-13.

Braylin Mungo was her usual excellent self, going 8 of 17 en route to 19 points and eight steals for Camden. The game was Mungo's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Morgan Champion, who posted 13 points in addition to six boards and four steals.

Fairfield Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Camden, their win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1.

Fairfield Central will square off against Keenan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Camden, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Trinity Collegiate at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Camden's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
