Volleyball Recap: Summit Shasta Black Bears vs. Design Tech Dragons

Summit Shasta came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with four straight wins and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Design Tech Dragons as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Black Bears also won the last time the pair played on October 3rd.

One reason for the win was Summit Shasta's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-12, 25-10.

Summit Shasta got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Maile Moffat out in front who had nine digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Mascaspac, who had three aces and 12 assists.

She wasn't the only good server: Summit Shasta was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Design Tech only served five.

Despite the loss, Design Tech still got an impressive performance from Maiko Ono, who had 14 digs and two aces. Ono is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in the last eight games she's played dating back to last season.

Summit Shasta has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season. As for Design Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.

Summit Shasta will head out to take on University Prep Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Summit Shasta is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road. As for Design Tech, they will face off against The Nueva School at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
