Softball Recap: Peniel Baptist Academy's Winning Streak Snapped at Seven Games

If Peniel Baptist Academy was feeling good fresh off their 13-1 takedown of First Coast Christian last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors came up short against the P.K. Yonge Blue Wave on Thursday, falling 18-12. The Warriors' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

McKenzie Zurn and Allison Peacock stepped up to the plate in a big way. Zurn went 4-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Peacock scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Peacock has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. Kylen Andrews also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Peniel Baptist Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 15-4. As for P.K. Yonge, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Peniel Baptist Academy will face off against Interlachen at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. As for P.K. Yonge, they will square off against Newberry at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
