Baseball Recap: Valencia Comes Up Short

Valencia fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against West Ranch on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 8-5 to the Wildcats. The Vikings have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Cole DeYoung was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-5. Esteban Valencia also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Valencia's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for West Ranch, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-6.
