Softball Recap: Bedford Bisons vs. Central Dragons
Bedford took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Central, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bisons sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 victory over the Dragons on Monday. Nine seems to be a good number for the Bisons as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Emily Pratt made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Leah Nee was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Bailey Mickle, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
The victory was the third in a row for Bedford, bringing their record up to 7-6. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Central, they dropped their record down to 3-6 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
