Basketball Game Preview: Struthers Wildcats vs. Hubbard Eagles

Struthers is on an 11-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Hubbard a seven-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Struthers Wildcats will be home for the holidays to greet the Hubbard Eagles at 7:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, Struthers came up short against McKinley and fell 53-44.

Meanwhile, Hubbard hadn't done well against South Range recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Eagles came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 81-73.

Hubbard's win came from a few key players Struthers will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Braydon Songer, who almost dropped a double-double with 32 points and nine rebounds. The matchup was his third in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakob Hayes, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 16 boards.

Hubbard now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Struthers, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Struthers came up short against Hubbard in their previous meeting back in January, falling 71-66. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
