Baseball Recap: Sidney Find Success

Sidney took a 12-run defeat the last time they faced off against Piqua, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Sidney skirted past Piqua 7-6. This was payback for the Yellowjackets, who suffered a 15-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

Brooks Taylor made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Taylor was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Taylor wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Shipe, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI. Ashton Rose was another, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
