Baseball Recap: Northridge Takes Down Taylorsville in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Northridge rose to the challenge on Friday. Everything went their way against the Taylorsville Warriors as they made off with a 10-1 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Knights, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Mick Whitaker and Jon Olsen did most of the damage at the plate: Whitaker went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI, while Olsen went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Whitaker has posted since back in March. Trevin Redd was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

Northridge's win bumped their record up to 16-10. As for Taylorsville, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-15.

Northridge will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
