Basketball Game Preview: Clovis Wildcats vs. Roswell Coyotes

The Clovis Wildcats will head out to face off against the Roswell Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Friday, Clovis came up short against Hobbs and fell 71-59. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while the Eagles are ranked second).

Meanwhile, Roswell had just enough and edged Carlsbad out 47-44 on Friday. The 47-point effort marked the Coyotes' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Clovis has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Roswell, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

Clovis didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Roswell in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, but they still walked away with a 60-55 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clovis since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
