Softball Game Preview: Donovan Wildcats vs. Hoopeston Cornjerkers

The Donovan Wildcats will face off against the Hoopeston Cornjerkers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

It was a proper cat-fight when Donovan faced off against Milford on Friday. Donovan fell 10-7 to Milford. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lily Anderson was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Bailey Henneike, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Hoopeston fell victim to Clifton Central and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 10-0 to the Comets. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cornjerkers have suffered since April 19, 2024.

Hoopeston's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Donovan, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
