Football Game Preview: Rocky Mountain Lobos vs. Fossil Ridge SaberCats + Official Tickets

The Rocky Mountain Lobos will head out to square off against the Fossil Ridge SaberCats at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Rocky Mountain will be strutting in after a victory while Fossil Ridge will be coming in after a defeat.

Rocky Mountain's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Brighton 28-0. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Lobos had established a 21-point advantage.

Meanwhile, Fossil Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 24-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of Legacy. Surprisingly, this marked the SaberCats' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Rocky Mountain will need to focus on slowing down Eli Swanson, one of several Fossil Ridge players who made an impact when they last played. He picked up 108 receiving yards and one touchdown. Swanson was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 62 yards. Colton Jantz was another key player, throwing for 238 yards and a pair of TDs.

The win made it two in a row for Rocky Mountain and bumps their season record up to 3-3. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 15 points in those games. As for Fossil Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Rocky Mountain was taken down by Fossil Ridge 40-7 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Lobos avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
