Baseball Recap: Tinley Park's Run of Six Straight Wins Now Over

Tinley Park dropped their record down to 12-9 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins. They fell 7-4 to the Reavis Rams. If the Titans were looking for revenge after losing 5-1 to the Rams when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Tinley Park saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drew Benthine, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Lukas Quiroz was another, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

As for Reavis, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games.

On Reavis' side, Robert Soto made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. Soto has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Tino Villagomez was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tinley Park will take on Richards at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Titans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Reavis, they will face off against Riverside-Brookfield at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Rams 3.3, the Bulldogs 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
