Basketball Recap: Millry Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Millry came into Saturday's game having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They secured a 48-44 W over the Leroy Bears on Saturday. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Bears last Friday, they had to take a 43-40 defeat.

Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ja'Kavien Collins, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Collins continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Joshua Reed, who posted 12 points and seven boards.

Millry's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 4-8. As for Leroy, they now have a losing record at 7-8.

The future could be bright for both Millry and Leroy: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Millry will look to extend Blacksher's five-game losing streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Leroy will try to hand McIntosh their third-straight loss when the two meet at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
