Baseball Recap: Clarkstown South Find Success

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Clarkstown South ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Harrison Huskies 5-3. This was payback for the Vikings, who suffered a 6-5 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Ryder Licata looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (two).

At the plate, Clarkstown South's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Nick Speckenbach, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Those two hits gave Speckenbach a new career-high. Justin Amodeo also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Clarkstown South now has a winning record of 3-2.

They will have a chance to go back-to-back against Harrison: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
