Preview: Tavares Bulldogs vs. East Ridge Knights
Tavares is 1-9 against East Ridge since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Tavares Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the East Ridge Knights at 6:00 p.m.
Tavares suffered their biggest loss since December 1, 2023 on Tuesday. They were outmatched by South Lake at home and fell 52-24. While losing is never fun, Tavares can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 467th, while South Lake is ranked 231st).
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but East Ridge ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They came out on top against Olympia by a score of 64-57. East Ridge's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Tavares bumped their record down to 3-9 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.3 points per game. As for East Ridge, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8.
