Basketball Recap: Henderson Collegiate's Losing Streak Snapped at Seven Games

Henderson Collegiate's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 39-27 win over the Excelsior Classical Academy Flying Lions. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Pride as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Excelsior Classical Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Arihanna Williams, who posted ten points. That was a full 37% of Excelsior Classical Academy's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Shadiamond Francis Service, who scored seven points.

Henderson Collegiate's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-9. As for Excelsior Classical Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Henderson Collegiate has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. Excelsior Classical Academy has already played their next game, a 31-20 loss against Cristo Rey Research Triangle on the 27th.
