Basketball Game Preview: Hamlin Chargers vs. DeSmet Bulldogs

The Hamlin Chargers will take on the DeSmet Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Hamlin comes in on three and DeSmet on four.

Hamlin is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Crofton, who was ranked sixth in their home state at the time (Hamlin was ranked fourth). Hamlin had just enough and edged Crofton out 59-56.

Meanwhile, DeSmet made easy work of Dawson-Boyd on Saturday and carried off a 62-37 win. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 23 points or more this season.

DeSmet has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Hamlin, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.

Everything went Hamlin's way against DeSmet in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as Hamlin made off with a 63-40 win. Does Hamlin have another victory up their sleeve, or will DeSmet turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
