Baseball Recap: High Tech NC's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak at Home

High Tech NC dropped their record down to 11-3 on Monday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They fell just short of the Victory Christian Academy Knights by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Raptor have suffered since April 30, 2024.

Ethan Hoglen made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Xavier Salvatore, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

As for Victory Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games.

On Victory Christian Academy's side, Xavier Renteria was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Renteria is becoming a predictor of the Knights' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-6 when he doesn't).

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. High Tech NC will take on Gompers Prep Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raptor are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Victory Christian Academy, they will challenge High Tech Mesa at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
