Football Recap: Catkill/Cairo-Durham Comes Up Short

Catkill/Cairo-Durham played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Eldred Yellowjackets and fell 42-12. Catkill/Cairo-Durham was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-6.

Eldred had a senior duo take command as Koen McGill rushed for 136 yards and two TDs on only five carries and James Deyermond gained 155 total yards and three touchdowns. McGill is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 136 every time he's taken the field this season. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Connor Ranaudo, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Catkill/Cairo-Durham's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Eldred, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Coming up, Catkill/Cairo-Durham will square off against Millbrook/Webutuck on Friday. As for Eldred, they will take on Tri-Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
