Basketball Game Preview: Elida Bulldogs vs. Bryan Golden Bears

Elida hasn't had much luck against Bryan recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Elida Bulldogs will challenge the Bryan Golden Bears at 1:30 p.m.

Elida fought the good fight in their overtime match against Celina on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 61-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Elida came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 192nd, while Celina is ranked 415th).

Bryan played in conference for the first time on Thursday and they got just the result they we're looking for. They enjoyed a cozy 61-46 win over Liberty Center. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Golden Bears.

The victory got Bryan back to even at 8-8. As for Elida, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-7.

Things could have been worse for Elida, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 62-44 loss to Bryan in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Elida avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
