Basketball Game Preview: Triton Central Tigers vs. Indianapolis Scecina Memorial Crusaders

Triton Central and Indianapolis Scecina Memorial are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Triton Central Tigers are taking a road trip to square off against the Indianapolis Scecina Memorial Crusaders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Triton Central is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.

Last Saturday, Triton Central didn't have too much trouble with Indianapolis Lutheran as they won 41-25. The 41-point effort marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Triton Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eli Sego led the charge by going 7 for 10 en route to 18 points and three steals. Sego's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cael Butler, who went 6 of 7 on his way to 13 points.

Meanwhile, Indianapolis Scecina Memorial played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 60-23 loss at the hands of Guerin Catholic. The Crusaders haven't had much luck with the Golden Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Indianapolis Scecina Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Triton Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Triton Central didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Indianapolis Scecina Memorial in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 41-36 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Triton Central since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
