Football Recap: Sammamish Takes a Loss

If Sammamish was feeling good fresh off their 27-0 takedown of Lindbergh last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The RedHawks were beaten by the Interlake Saints 66-14 on Friday. The RedHawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-14.

Terrell Boles and Rakin Showki certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Boles rushed for 84 yards and one TD on only eight carries, while Showki picked up 66 receiving yards and one score. Boles got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 72 yards.

Julian Hayes continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Interlake, throwing for 244 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85% of his passes. Max Stephenson also helped out with an impressive 100 receiving yards.

Sammamish now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Interlake, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

Sammamish has already played their next contest, a 63-20 defeat against Cedarcrest on the 9th. As for Interlake, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 56-7 victory against Lindbergh on the 9th.
