Basketball Game Preview: Glenelg Country Dragons vs. New Hope Academy National Tigers

The Glenelg Country Dragons will challenge the New Hope Academy National Tigers at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Glenelg Country is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Academy of the New Church just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Sunday. They lost 92-66 to the Lions. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Dragons came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked tenth in Maryland, while the Lions are ranked 78th in Pennsylvania).

Meanwhile, New Hope Academy National won against Severn School on Monday with 63 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. New Hope Academy National snuck past Pallotti with a 63-57 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Tigers who have now won three games in a row.

Glenelg Country better keep an eye on Uriah Augare-Deal. He was instrumental in New Hope Academy National's win, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 12 boards. The dominant performance gave Augare-Deal a new career-high in points. Haki Muhammed II was another key player, putting up 11 points.

New Hope Academy National is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.2 points per game. As for Glenelg Country, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.
