Soccer Game Preview: Waynesville vs. Eugene

The Waynesville Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the Eugene Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Eugene took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Waynesville, who comes in off a win.

On Saturday, Waynesville had just enough and edged out Osage 2-1. That's two games straight that Waynesville have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Eugene unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Boonville by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty nine goals in the game before, Eugene couldn't push the score so high this time.

Waynesville is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for Eugene, their loss dropped their record down to 14-6.

Waynesville was able to grind out a solid victory over Eugene in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
