Baseball Preview: Acorn Tigers vs. Hector Wildcats
The Acorn Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the Hector Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
Subiaco Academy hit Acorn with a five-run seventh inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers came up short against the Trojans, falling 10-2. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Hector, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Westside on Tuesday, sneaking past 15-13. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since April 10, 2025.
Hudson McAlister was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those doubles marked the first that he has hit this season. David Warren was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Hector's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-6. As for Acorn, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
