Basketball Game Preview: Waterville Panthers vs. Winthrop Ramblers

The Waterville Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the Winthrop Ramblers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Waterville has now lost 14 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 19.

Last Saturday, Waterville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 55-50 to Maine Central Institute.

Meanwhile, Winthrop didn't have quite enough to beat Old Orchard Beach on Tuesday and fell 45-43.

Waterville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Winthrop, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

Waterville came up short against Winthrop when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 34-30. Can Waterville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
