Denbigh Baptist Christian played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Hampton Christian Academy Warriors, falling 61-39. The Minutemen's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Defeat or not, Denbigh Baptist Christian got some senior leadership from Joshua Kinney and William Showalter. Kinney posted 12 points, while Showalter earned 12 points.

Hampton Christian Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joel Fullwood, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten assists. Fullwood has become a key player for Hampton Christian Academy: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least eight assists, but 6-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ethan West, who had six points along with 14 rebounds and seven blocks.

Denbigh Baptist Christian's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Hampton Christian Academy, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Denbigh Baptist Christian will square off against Grove Christian School at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hampton Christian Academy, they will take on Gateway Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hampton Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.5 points per game this season.
