Soccer Game Preview: Mariner vs. Glacier Peak

The Mariner Marauders are taking a road trip to take on the Glacier Peak Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.

Mariner took a four-goal loss the last time they faced off against Kamiak, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Mariner never let Kamiak get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last match, Glacier Peak made sure to put some goals up on the board against Meadowdale on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Mavericks 4-3. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Grizzlies' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

The victory got Mariner back to even at 1-1. As for Glacier Peak, they now have a winning record of 2-1-1.

Mariner couldn't quite get it done against Glacier Peak when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can Mariner avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
