            Softball Recap: Lafayette Central Catholic Knights vs. West Lafayette Red Devils        
        
		
        
        
            Lafayette Central Catholic had lost three straight on the road, but  on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 1-7 to make it four. They came up short against  the West Lafayette Red Devils, falling  15-5. If the Knights were looking for revenge after losing  14-1 to the Red Devils when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
 Lafayette Central Catholic saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Hannah Lee, who  went 2-for-3 with four  RBI, one  stolen base,  and one  run.
As for West Lafayette,  the  win made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 7-5. Considering they have won five matches by more than six  runs this season, Wednesday's  blowout was nothing new.
 On West Lafayette's side,  Paola Eifler was  incredible,  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and two  RBI. Those  two  stolen bases gave  Eifler a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kerrigan Gooden, who  went 3-for-4 with three  runs.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lafayette Central Catholic will head out to  challenge Rensselaer Central  at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for West Lafayette, they will venture away from home to  take on Clinton Prairie  at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
