Basketball Recap: Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Comes Up Short

Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a hard 70-56 fall against the Minnesota Valley Lutheran Chargers. The Thunderbirds were probably out for revenge after losing 87-54 to them when the teams met back in February, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Minnesota Valley Lutheran, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop will venture away from home to face off against Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop is facing Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart at the right time seeing as Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart is stuck on a five-game losing streak. Minnesota Valley Lutheran and Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton will round out the year against one another at at 6:00 p.m. on December 26th. One thing working in Minnesota Valley Lutheran's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
