Softball Recap: Sarasota Wins Going Away Against Braden River

Sarasota never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past the Braden River Pirates 19-0. The victory continues a trend for the Sailors in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won seven in a row.

Ashlan Guengerich made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mady Pint, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Jade Hendrickson was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Sarasota always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .733. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Braden River only posted an OBP of .000.

Sarasota now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Braden River, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Sarasota will take on Auburndale at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Braden River, they will challenge Venice at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
