Baseball Game Preview: Mildred Eagles vs. Frankston Indians

The Mildred Eagles will challenge the Frankston Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Mildred comes in on three and Frankston on six.

Mildred had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Cross Roads on Friday. The Eagles never let the Bobcats get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. Considering the Eagles have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Frankston was able to grind out a solid victory over Avalon on Friday, taking the game 4-0.

Frankston pushed their record up to 15-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mildred, their win bumped their record up to 13-5.

Mildred came up short against Frankston in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 4-1. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
