Volleyball Recap: West Orange Gets the Win

West Orange won the last time they faced Belleville and things went their way on Thursday too. The Mountaineers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Buccaneers, sneaking past 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mountaineers.

West Orange had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-18, 25-15.

Nola Duncan paced West Orange's offense, picking up 20 kills. Duncan got some help from Cailee Cassidy and her 30 assists. Paige Rawls controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

West Orange's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Belleville, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, West Orange will take on Montclair at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Belleville has already played their next contest (against Science Park), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
