Volleyball Recap: Foothill Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Centennial

Foothill faced Centennial in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. Foothill took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Centennial. The Falcons have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 19-25, 25-23, 25-18.

Yeheshua Ruiz paced Foothill's offense, picking up ten kills. Ruiz got some help from Jayden Ellizar-Keiki and his 29 assists. Ellizar-Keiki was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Foothill's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Centennial, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Foothill will challenge Silverado at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Centennial, they will take on Green Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
